Who We Make Time For Says Alot

So who do you spend the most time with? What does it say about you? Think about it. Who we spend time with reveals who is important in our life.

Does God fit in our schedule? Is He on the planner? Do we keep communication with Him regularly? Reading His Word, (The Bible),and spending time in prayer reveals if He really does. I remind myself often to make time for Him. He's the truest friend, and loves us the most. He's worthy of my time. His presence renews me, and sustains me. I know that time with Him will enrich my life.

I love my family! I am a wife, a mother of three awesome children. They mean so much to me. You know, ...even though I love them so much, I find myself trying to get too busy and pre-occupied with other things sometimes. It is easy to get caught up in the activities and demands of life,...and therefore let priorities slip. My thoughts today are on how important it is to make time to talk, to listen, to spend quality time with those I love. Laughing together, playing together, praying together, having converstations together, working together,... it is all that life is meant to be...making time for those who matter most.

My Dad is aging, as my Mom is too. I find myself wanting to spend more time with them, because I will not always have that opportunity as time goes on eventually. They need to know I care, and that they are worth my time. I know that it means alot to them when I come over, when I bring my kids to visit them. It really ministers to their soul, and encourages them. It might be a one hour visit, or a two hour visit. Giving a helping hand now and then also sends them a message that they matter.

The in-laws matter too. God gave us extended family for a reason. They are a special part of our lives. Nurturing those relationships makes an impact on our quality of life. May we never take them for granted, but rather cherish them as the gift they are, no matter what their differences may be to our natural families. Spending time with them matters.

Brothers and sisters, what a joy to have siblings!...well most of the time. LOL Yeah, those relationships change through the years, but no doubt, they are forever relationships. May we take time to nurture those relationships. God gave us brothers and/or sisters for a reason.

My Uncle turned 81 this week. I found myself regretting missing so many of his Birthdays through the years. It was truly a lesson that life is short, and there is only one chance at this life we have been given.

Our friends matter too. There is a special place in our lives for friends. What would we do without God-given friends? They are precious, and fill our lives with encouragement and blessing. Making time for them also reveals that we care and that they matter as well. A card, a note, a visit, a text, just letting them know we are thinking of them, that we care, it makes a difference.

My encouragement in this blog is to make time for those God has given you. May we all keep our priorities straight, and realize who matters most: God, Family, Friends, and others that God connects us with in life too. I once heard someone say, "the best gift you can give is yourself."

One final thought~
My favorite quote: "Live well. Laugh often. Love much."
